(remaining) $ 5,334.96 Expenses $16,466.66 - Balance $29,913.18 **NOTE** $1,000.00 donation from Accutar mistakenly included in Port Install Payments, numbers above have been updated. Asking all peers to make some donation for this year This accounting does not show the substantial hardware contribution this year (switches and optics) We are failing to build a piggy bank. Invoices for donations can be issued upon request, tell us what line-item will satisfy your accounting department For not-for-profits like YYCIX, on-boarding with big-company accounting departments is extremely difficult and costly. Calgary does not charge recurring fees because we adopted the SeattleIX model. The SeattleIX model works because of large substantial donations that make sure the model works. SeattleIX has been at it longer that us and YYCIX will continue with the same approach. Our goal is to achieve a similar fiscal safety level. 10) Hardware Contributions ========================== - Four 400G switches - Pile of 400G-LR4, 100G-bidi optics - 3 fiber pairs into Equinix CL3 provided by City of Calgary - Some DAC cables - Some DWDM equipment 11) How to help YYCIX help you ============================== - Please donate 100G DAC cables, 100G optics - Please donate money - Please explain YYCIX value to your Accounting departments, and ease the Accounting onboarding - Please upgrade your port at 50% capacity *especially if you are an ISP* be kind to YYCIX switch buffers - We allow "no fee, bring your own optic" for first 1G or 10G connection. Consider the “pay” option rather than providing an optic 12) Network Operator's Update ============================= Introduction to the Operators - Theo de Raadt, Bit of everything - Jason George, AS112 - Job Snijders, Route filtering - Bob Kitella, Web services - Brock Richards, Switch/Fabric expertise - Evan Ricci, help at Datahive, Rogers, and Arrow Update - Installed a huge pile of 400G & 100G switches and optics - All locations have 2 switches capable of 100G peering ports All leaf-switches are on the fabric via a redundant path (but one link is a bit small) Secure Route Filtering - Filters are built based upon route authorization databases 1. ARIN/RADB IRR route/route6 objects 2. RPKI ROA 3. *NEW* RPKI ASPA 4.
